"On To God (St. Ignatius Song)" by Jade Lundgren
“On To God (St. Ignatius Song)" by Jade Lundgren
A few words from jade
“On To God” is a deeply special song to me. I’ve always loved reading the early church’s primary sources, and there are so many available! I was especially inspired by the writings of St. Ignatius of Antioch, and this song emerged from that inspiration. Nearly every line in the song is drawn from either a quote of his or a Bible verse.
St. Ignatius, on his way to martyrdom, wrote, “How glorious, like a setting sun, we move on from here and on to God.” That phrase moved me deeply, and I knew it had to become a song. We are headed for glory, and sometimes we need to be reminded that “to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” I love songs that reflect the joy of living a life that’s moving ever closer to God.
a few words from jennie
I vividly remember the day that Jade brought this song idea to me and the story of St. Ignatius. The beautiful way in which he saw life and death has changed me. She explained to me that he viewed our time in this world similarly to a baby in a womb: the perfect environment in which to grow us. He believed that when we die, we are actually born into what we were truly created for. I love this so much and it makes 1 Corinthians 15:35-58 (this passage is exceptionally poignant in the Message Bible) come alive to me which such anticipation! On to God!
on to god (st. ignatius song) lyrics
Verse 1
My desire is for God
Christ, the object of my quest
Time for birth is close at hand
We're on the way, on the way to Jesus!
Verse 2
Nothing else quite fascinates
This world’s bread has lost its taste
Every breath for the cross’ sake
We're on the way, on the way to Jesus!
Pre Chorus 1
Death has no teeth
It lost all sting!
I will live and with the saints all sing
Chorus 1
Oh, how glorious! Like a setting sun!
We, we move on from here and on to God!
We, we move on from here and on to God!
Verse 3
Mortal flesh will be exchanged
Fear no sword, nor wrath, nor pain
To live is Christ, to die is gain!
We're on the way, on the way to Jesus!
Pre Chorus 2
Death has no teeth, It lost all sting!
I will live and with the saints all sing
Chorus 2
Oh, how glorious! Like a setting sun!
We, we move on from here and on to God!
We, we move on from here and on to God!
Bridge 1
Sing Hallelujah, we’re on to God now!
Sing Hallelujah, we’re on to God now!
Sing Hallelujah, we’re on to God now!
Sing Hallelujah, we’re on to God!
Chorus 3
Oh, how glorious! Like a setting sun!
We, we move on from here and on to God!
We, we move on from here and on to God!

"I'm Not Mad At You" by Jade Lundgren
“I'm Not Mad at You” by Jade Lundgren
A few words from jade
The belief that God is mad at us is a lie from the pit of hell. I wrote, “I’m Not Mad At You” to address this. Paul reminds us in Romans 8, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” God is very much for us. He thought us into existence, formed and fashioned us Himself, and loves us so deeply that He gave His very blood and breath to give us life.
While our sin separates us from God, He bridged that gap through the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. He is sacrificial love. He is not a distant God, and His love for us is immense—not because we are deserving, but because He is all kind and all merciful.
I pray this song draws our hearts back to the Lord’s love for us and brings healing.
I’m not mad at you lyrics
Verse 1
I am not mad at you
I’m not a distant God
In-fact I’ve never turned
My head from you
Verse 2
No matter what you’ve done
No matter where you’ve been
My love’s not based on anything that you do
Pre Chorus 1
'Cause I made You
There’s no rejection to face
My hands formed you
I know you’re no mistake
Chorus 1
Love, love for as long as there is time
Love, love, I will call you to My side
And there I’ll heal you, help you
Lift your weary head, and I'll hold your face
Look into my eyes and you'll see grace
Verse 3
When you were just My thought
I breathed you to life from dust
And in the dust
I’d go to take your place
Verse 4
You have not let Me down
As if My heart could fall
I’m on your side
I’m fighting for you now
Pre Chorus 2
'Cause I made You
There’s no rejection to face
My hands formed you
I know you’re no mistake
Chorus 2
Love, love for as long as there is time
Love, love, I will call you to My side
And there I’ll heal you, help you
Lift your weary head, and I'll hold your face
Look into my eyes and you'll see grace
Chorus 3
Love, love for as long as there is time
Love, love, I will call you to My side
And there I’ll heal you, help you
Lift your weary head, and I'll hold your face
Look into my eyes and you'll see grace

"Say My Name" by Jade Lundgren
“Say My Name” by Jade Lundgren
“say my name”
by jade lundgren
A few words from jade
“Say My Name” speaks to our deepest longing to be seen by God. I’ve heard that everyone’s favorite sound is the sound of their own name, and whether that’s true or not, it resonates deeply with me.
In Isaiah 43:1, God declares, “I have called you by name; you are Mine.” Again In Isaiah 49:16, “I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.” “For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him” (2 Corinthians 16:9). God knows our name. An almost unfathomable truth is that He will also give us a new name, written on a white stone (Revelation 2).
In a world where it’s easy to feel lost, unseen, or overlooked, the Lord Himself sees you. He is the One who created you, and He will never look away. Our desire to be fully seen and loved is met completely in Him.
say my name lyrics
Verse 1
Say My Name
Say it soft
Say it slow
So I don't try to hear it
From anyone
Verse 2
Say My Name
Say it loud
Say it strong
Drown out every sorrow
This heart has known
Pre Chorus 1
It's been so long since I could
Look at your eyes and not feel like
You're miles away
And darling I can tell you're
Wiser now tell me how it got
To be this way
Chorus 1
Can two roads meet again
If they circle and reach out
To find where they first began
Will two birds fly again
After losing the way
And just Barely surviving the storm
I need to hear you say my name
Verse 3
Find my hand In the crowd here below
'Cause only You could find me
And lead me home
Verse 4
Find my hand when it's dark
When it's cold, 'Cause I still know
The feeling: I won't let go.
Pre Chorus 2
It's been so long since I could
Look at your eyes and not feel like
You're miles away
And darling I can tell you're
Wiser now tell me how it got
To be this way

Human by Jordan Merritt: Lyrics and Meaning | Seasons
Listen to "Human" by Jordan Merritt.
A Few Words From
jordan merritt
"Can we be human? I just want to have a conversation."
I could easily write an entire blog on what it means to be human. But I believe the Bible and years of scientific study provide a better answer than I could. Instead, I want to focus on something else: the conversation.
I’ve spent much of my adult life in vocational ministry, and if there’s one thing I know, it’s that ministry involves conflict. In fact, I’d argue that 80 percent of ministry is conflict resolution. Whether it’s denominational, philosophical, theological, personal, familial, or over vision, priorities, or values—conflict is everywhere.
I haven’t always navigated it perfectly, and I’m sure you haven’t either. But here’s what I know about human conflict: 100 percent of the time, it starts with a conversation.
And right now, conflict is all around us. So here’s the point: this song is an invitation to hard conversations.
Look around the world—religion, race, politics, abortion, sexuality. Everything seems like a hot topic. People are afraid to engage in these conversations. I often hesitate to post something I believe in, knowing it might cause frustration or confusion without the chance to explain my perspective.
We’re living in a powder-keg culture, quick to react to what angers us, and avoiding meaningful dialogue with those we disagree with. We set “boundaries” at family gatherings to avoid uncomfortable topics, thinking it keeps the peace, but in reality, it builds walls between us.
But here’s the thing: when we talk about what we disagree on, we open the door to understanding and love. The goal of conversation isn’t necessarily agreement—it’s love.
And there is only one truth. Jesus said He is the way, the truth, and the life. This means Jesus is the path to truth, and that truth leads to fullness of life. He also said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”
The Greek word for "truth" can also mean "reality." So, you shall know reality, and reality will set you free. We see this in addiction recovery—you have to face the truth of where you are. In our faith, we must confess our sins, accept the truth, and turn from what holds us back.
Truth leads to life. Jesus is the truth. The Bible reveals Him to us.
Listen to Jordan Merritt’s interview with NRT's Founder, Kevin McNeese about Truth and Unity in Today’s Church
Now, back to the conversation. I know some people may disagree with everything I’ve said, and that’s okay. I’d love to have a conversation with them, because they may see things I don’t. I value your perspective, even if it doesn’t change my mind.
If we will learn to do this, we will learn to love each other better.
Jesus was incredible at loving people who were different from Him. He sought out those others would avoid. That’s why He came—to seek and save the lost. So why should the Church, God’s people, be any different?
We shouldn’t avoid those who disagree with us. We should run toward them. We shouldn’t shy away from difficult conversations. We should invite them and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us through them. We should engage the world with love, with grace, and with humility, because that’s what Jesus did.
Every one of us needs Him. Every one of us experiences pain, hurt, doubt, fear, and loneliness. These shared struggles unite us as humans. Romans 3:23 says, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” We’ve all felt the sting of sin—whether it’s our own or someone else’s.
So, here’s my prayer:
For the Church—that we would love each other the way Jesus asked us to. Like Jesus prayed in John 17, that we would be in unity, just as He and the Father are. That we would share the truth in love, live humbly and gently with one another, and keep the peace through unity in the Spirit. Ephesians 4 says, “Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love.”
We should not fear the world, but engage it with the love of Jesus, shining His light into the darkness.
This song began as a prayer for the Church, and for the world, to stop fighting, quarreling, and creating division. Jesus prayed for our unity, and there’s a connection between how we love one another and how the world sees Him.
And here’s my prayer for the world: that we could have a conversation—about anything—without offense, fear, or judgment. That we would seek to understand each other more than we seek to be right.
I’ll be upfront: I’m a Bible-believing, church-going, family-loving farm boy with a guitar. I don’t have a degree or a big business, but I do have a deep love for Jesus. And He loves you more than either of us can comprehend. He calls me to love you too.
I won’t back down from my convictions, but I promise to engage with an open mind and a heart willing to hear your perspective. And in doing so, I believe we’ll see a little bit of ourselves in each other—and maybe even see Jesus there too.
So, I’m asking for a chance.
"Can we be human? I just want to have a conversation."

“Human” Lyrics
Verse 1
Oh, I know it feels like
Every word begins a fight
But I swear we have
So much more in common
We have hopes
And broken dreams
We get hurt
And we both bleed
We both understand
There's problems
But to solve them
Chorus 1
Can we be human?
I just want to have a conversation
It might be stupid
But we both might be mistaken
It might sound crazy and impossible
But I feel so responsible to love you
And the only way we can do it
Is for us to just be human
Verse 2
Oh, somewhere along the line
We let fear change our design
Will we turn it back
Or just accept the ruins?
All this pain, all this war
All this hate we swung like swords
Will we stop and ask ourselves
"What are we doin'?"
Chorus 2
Can we be human?
I just want to have a conversation
It might be stupid
But we both might be mistaken
It might sound crazy and impossible
But I feel so responsible to love you
And the only way we can do it
Is for us to just be human
Bridge 1
We may not see eye to eye
But we'll find hope if we just try
And do our best with what we have
Cause it's a vapor
So let's agree to disagree
But can we live in harmony?
Cause we're all fashioned
In the image of our Maker
And I think we'd both agree
We need a Savior
Chorus 3
So, Can we be human?
I just want to have a conversation
It might be stupid
But the love might be contagious
It might sound crazy and impossible
But I feel so responsible to love you
And the only way I know to do it
Is for us to just be human
Can we just be human?

A Few Words From Jordan Merritt
These songs have been living in mine and my family’s hearts for a long time and I’m excited that they can now be in yours! Each of these songs come from a special place, have done special work in our hearts and mean so much to us. Some songs were written from the mountaintop and some in the valleys, but one thing that they all have in common is that they tell of the Constant One through it all. My prayer for these songs is that God uses them to speak to the places in our hearts than need His joy, His encouragement, and His hope. I love you all!

Verse 1
I did my way, but it led me straight to hell
I asked for faith, but I really wanted wealth
I used your Name, to bring myself applause
I was dead inside, they couldn’t tell at all
Verse 2
Wow, look at me, I thought I earned it all
All I really had was a crowd to watch me fall
All I ever really wanted was Your love
When did I decide that it was not enough?
Chorus 1
Jesus, I’m sorry for the way I steal from You
I never meant to hurt, I’m just deceived and so confused
Jesus, I’m sorry for my selfishness and lies
Have mercy on my sin, and heal the sickness of my pride
Verse 3
I used to say, "Lord, You are all I need."
But the leaven of the stage spread like disease!
Oh, I went to war, but I didn’t count the cost
On earth, I’d won, but perhaps I really lost
Verse 4
I never thought I could be this far from home
I even thought I could fix it on my own.
Did I run too far?
Oh, hear my cry for help!
Forgive me, God!
I’m exhausted with myself
Chorus 2
Jesus, I’m sorry for the way I steal from You
I never meant to hurt, I’m just deceived and so confused
Jesus, I’m sorry for my selfishness and lies
Have mercy on my sin, and heal the sickness of my pride
Bridge 1
'Cause You rise when I fall!
When I’m weak You are strong!
You be big, I’ll be small!
It’s what I wanted all along!
So take all that’s left
Pull this crown off my head!
This is all that I need
On my face here at Your feet
Chorus 3
Jesus, I’m sorry for the way I steal from You
I never meant to hurt, I’m just deceived and so confused
Jesus, I’m sorry for my selfishness and lies
Have mercy on my sin, and heal the sickness of my pride

If I could go to the moment
When creation was spoken
When the Word let the

The beauty and the chaos
I’m confident that all could say is
Chorus
Holy, Holy
And you’re only
Just gettin' started
Everything that has breath
Praise the Lord!
Verse 2

A new genesis arrived
Yeah, a baby made
The devil start quaking
Yeah, a baby
Made heaven go crazy

And you’re only
Just gettin' started
Everything that has breath
Praise say

And your working
In every heart
Let everything that has breath

I know there’s so much more to see

So do it now in me!
Do it now! Do it now!

shalom lyrics
Verse 1
I had so many questions how
To fill my hearts desire
And traded all my peace to find the answers
I’m constantly exhausted
By the racing of this life
But once I stop and wait and let you enter
Chorus 1
There’s Shalom
Shalom
The place where my heart finally feels home Shalom
Verse 2
Your kindness is an ointment
That mends and makes me whole
But somehow I’m ashamed to say I’m hurting
Your presence like an ocean to
The desert of my soul
But the moment I admit that I am thirsty
Chorus 2
There’s Shalom
Shalom
The place where my heart finally feels home Shalom
Shalom
No matter what I feel (seems) is going wrong
In spite of all the questions
Still I know There’s shalom
Bridge
A peace within the turbulence
A fathers strength a mothers kiss
I never have to question its intention
The safety of a faithful friend
The comfort of a lovers hand
That calms my heart with intimate affection
I see it in the green of spring
I hear it when my children sing
I feel it in a melodies expression
I’ve searched so many years and miles
And finally come to realize
The thing I want is only in your presence

runner lyrics
Verse 1
I know the song
That says I’m prone to wander
But I like to think
I know where this road leads
I’m on a search
For heaven when I leave You
Just to find that hell’s
Where I’m alone with me
Verse 2
I’m angry like the father
That you gave me
And stubborn like
The one you gave to him
So how could You
Expect me just to trust You
When You know that I’m afraid
You’re just like them?
Chorus
Oo, I’m a runner,
I’m a chaser, I’m a lover
Of all the things that
Pull me from Your side
But You tell me that
You love me like no other
And maybe one day
I’ll believe You’re right
Verse 3
I know I’ll have to
Pay for what I’m doing
The preacher says that
Justice must be done
I know the things I’ve done
Have made You angry
But the Bible says
You’ve placed that on Your Son
Verse 4
I’m fearless on my best
And on my worst days
It’s hard to think You
See through that facade
You know I run 'cause
I’m afraid of living
But life without Your love's
Just a mirage
Chorus
Oo, I’m a runner,
I’m a chaser, I’m a lover
Of all the things
That pull me from Your side
But You tell me that
You love me like no other
And maybe one day
I’ll believe You’re right
Verse 5
There’s a thousand other
Places I would run to
Before I dared
To look You in the eyes
But there’s
Something in Your gaze
That makes me wonder
If You’ve really loved me
This way all this time
Chorus
Oo, I’m a runner
I’m a chaser, I’m a lover
Of all the things
That pull me from Your side

Scary by Jordan Merritt
“Scary” by Jordan Merritt
presenting Jordan merritt
read the story and listen
to the song, “scary”
“It’s scary but I’m not alone”
Life is NUTS right now. Our country is upside down. There’s division, hate, animosity and a new problem every day. Tensions are high. The economy is out of whack and eggs are SO EXPENSIVE.
Why are eggs ever that expensive?
But, here’s what I know and cling to…
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world”
-John 16:33
I heard a preacher one time say “be nice to people because every single person you meet is either in a storm, just came out of a storm, or they are headed into a storm.”
And, honestly, that’s one of the truest things I’ve ever heard. We all have our “stuff.” We all have situations in our lives that cause us to wonder where God is and long for our future with Him when all is made right. Today, as I write this, I have so many questions about my own life; so many fears that I have to daily reconcile with God.
But, He’s never left me or forsaken me. He’s always made a way. And as I regularly tell my wife (and myself), “has there ever been a day that we haven’t had what we needed?”
Walking with Jesus doesn’t automatically remove scary situations from our lives. We still have to experience scary things, but not alone. Jesus leads us with His peace and joy and gives us His perspective.
So wherever this blog post finds you, HOLD on to Him. He is with you. He is for you. He has good things in store for those who love Him.
It may be scary… but you’re not alone.

Verse 1
Lately, I felt like I was a little bit
Crazy just trying to figure it out
But I’m waiting 'cause
I’ve run out of solutions
And I’m learning what the truth is
Pre Chorus 1
It’s the promise that
Whatever comes
Whatever storms
Though this road leads
To the great unknown
Chorus
I’m not alone!
I’m flying with angels!
It might seem dangerous
But I'm not afraid of this
I’m holding on!
You taught me to dance here
Let you be the answer
When I’m at my weakest
I know you are strong
It’s scary, but I’m not alone!
Verse 2
You saved me
Now we both have a history
So maybe I could
Trust a little bit more
Pre Chorus 2
You’re everything
That I have ever needed
You’re my bread and my protection
No matter what

Through, through this life until the great finale!

Lack by Jordan Merritt: Lyrics, Meaning & Story
“Lack” by Jordan Merritt
the story behind “lack”
Have you ever felt like you don’t have the things that you need to accomplish the goal that you want to achieve? Have you ever looked at the mountain in front of you and wondered how on earth you are going to climb it? That’s what LACK is about.
I was in a writers retreat and was tasked, along with Buck Mcknight, to write a song about creativity, not poverty. But, the two go hand in hand. It may have just been instinct at the moment, but it was so deeply embedded in my DNA that when “creativity” was mentioned as the target, my brain went immediately to not having what I needed.
We wrote this song from the standpoint of a little boy named, you guessed it, “Lack.”
We started with, “What if the little boy’s name is Lack and he doesn’t have the tools to do something?” The rest honestly just wrote itself!
It was such a fun song to write and such a fun moment to share it that I honestly didn’t really dig much deeper into what this song meant to me until months later.
The first line of the song goes as follows:
“Lack went out to build a rocket ship just like he’d seen, but all he had was bottle caps and cans and hopes and dreams.”
I was listening to this song one day, just analyzing the production of it, and it hit me:
I am LACK.
I’ve said for years, “lack of resources is the birth place for creativity”. I honestly don’t know how this statement, this song, and the reality that I’ve created from for years didn’t connect in my brain, but in this moment when it all came together, I just cried.
Now, I know I’m not the only person who has experienced this feeling. There are many people who are much more creative than me. They are day in and day out coming up with new ways to accomplish new goals with new problems in their way.
So this song isn’t “MY” song… it’s OURS.
It’s a song to the dreamers: the ones who dare to believe that there’s more “out there” than what they currently see.
It’s a song to the believers: the ones who wake up every day and put one foot in front of the other.
It’s a song to the builders: the ones who put their hands to work, no matter what those around them say as the do it.
It’s a song to the creators: the ones who get ridiculed and mocked for not “fitting in,” all the while making something out of nothing for ALL to enjoy.
It’s a song to the finishers: the ones who can’t sleep until they’ve seen with their own eyes what they’ve seen in their dreams for so long.
Finally, this song is for you. It’s for your children and their children.
Here’s my prayer for you:
“May God would continue to give you the dreams, vision, courage, boldness, craziness, and perseverance to be like Him and CREATE.
The world is waiting for your God-given idea to come through your God-given ability.
You probably won’t have what you need… but neither did Lack.”
Lack Lyrics by jordan merritt
Verse 1
Lack went out to build
A rocket ship just like he’d seen
But all he had was bottle caps and
Cans and hopes and dreams
He had a big idea
And it could've stopped here
Those dreams lift off like NASA
Rockets blasting to the sky
But Houston we’ve got problems 'cause
Lack opened up his eyes
He didn't have the tools
But no, Lack's not a fool
Chorus
What he don't have
Won’t hold him back
Though it might be what he needs
'Cause he does have
Astronomical creativity
And the more he dreams
The more he sees
He’s not yet qualified
But what I know about
Lack is that he’ll get there
You just gotta give him time
Verse 2
Lack packed up his bags and
Took his dreams to Californ
He studied astrophysics
And how galaxies are formed
You might say that he’d arrived
But he wasn't satisfied
'Cause he had
Armstrong dreams of playing
Putt-putt on the moon
But his bachelor pad
Was launching bad
And his rent was overdue
He longed for all the thrills
But he could barely pay his bills
Chorus
What he don't have
Won’t hold him back
Though it might be what he needs
'Cause he does have
Astronomical creativity
And the more he dreams
The more he sees
He’s not yet qualified
But what I know about
Lack is that he’ll get there
You just gotta give him time
You just gotta give him time!
Verse 3
Lack looks out the window
As he’s racing past the sun
But his heart is grounded wondering
How he’ll raise the other one
After all that he had earned
He still had much to learn
But the limit of his name
Was the reason he was sure
Chorus
What he don't have
Won’t hold him back
Though it might be what he needs
'Cause he does have
Astronomical creativity
And the more he dreams
The more he sees
He’s not yet qualified
But what I know about
Lack is that he’ll get there
Oh, what I know about
Lack is that he’ll get there
You just gotta give him time
You just gotta give him time

Character Development
Family Devotion
In Jordan Merritt’s song "Lack," we meet a character named Lack who starts with little more than bottle caps and big dreams. Through his story, we learn that not having everything can actually spark our creativity and drive us to achieve great things. This tale is a wonderful reminder that with a bit of imagination and persistence, we can reach for the stars.
1. Dreams Start with What You Don't Have
"Lack went out to build a rocket ship just like he’d seen, but all he had was bottle caps and cans and hopes and dreams." Imagine starting with just a few simple things and dreaming about rocket ships. Lack shows us that great adventures begin with using what you have creatively.
2. Creativity Comes Alive When You Need It Most
"What he don't have won’t hold him back, 'cause he does have astronomical creativity." Even though Lack didn’t have much, his imagination was limitless. Like when you play make-believe, Lack teaches us that creativity can fill in the gaps when we’re missing something.
3. Learning Is Part of the Adventure
"Lack packed up his bags and took his dreams to Californ. He studied astrophysics and how galaxies are formed." Lack’s journey into learning about the stars shows that following your dreams often means learning new and exciting things.
4. Being Content Is a Journey, Not a Destination
"You might say that he’d arrived, but he wasn't satisfied." Lack teaches us that reaching our goals is just part of the journey. True joy comes from continuing to pursue our passions and dreams, always curious about what’s next.
5. Every Challenge Is a New Lesson
"He longed for all the thrills, but he could barely pay his bills." Like Lack, sometimes we face tough times, but each challenge is an opportunity to learn something new about perseverance and managing what we have.
6. Balancing Dreams and Real Life
"Lack looks out the window as he’s racing past the sun, but his heart is grounded wondering how he’ll raise the other one." This shows us that even as we reach for our dreams, we need to stay grounded and take care of the basics at home and in life.
7. Patience and Persistence Pay Off
"But what I know about Lack is that he’ll get there, you just gotta give him time." Lack’s story is a beautiful reminder that all great things take time and persistence. Just like waiting for a plant to grow, our dreams take time to bloom.
Conclusion From bottle caps to dreams of galaxies, Lack's journey inspires us to think creatively and work hard toward our goals. His story encourages everyone, young and old, to dream big and never let the lack of something stop you from achieving greatness. Let’s remember, every limitation we face could be the beginning of an incredible adventure.

a few words
from cliff preston
This album is a project that I thought might never be made. I believed that the Lord was done using me in this way. But God, being rich in mercy, allowed me to meet some fantastic people and resurrected this thing that I had let die. These songs are stories of happiness, hard times, struggles, sorrow, and His faithfulness to get glory in all seasons.
God, may you speak to the hearts of those who listen and comfort those who need your help right now. Whatever the circumstance or question, help us to know the answer begins and ends with Jesus’ finished work on the cross. Help us to remember that we can trust You because You have never broken a promise. To the ones who believe that You are done using them, let these songs be the journey that You choose to lead them to Your paths of resurrected purpose. We trust You, and in the precious name of Jesus, we pray, Amen.

CLIFF PRESTON BIO
“I try to see people through the lens of what God has brought me through and saved me from. I believe that if God can love and use even me, he can love and use anyone.”
It’s been said that what sets Cliff Preston apart is his raw authenticity and compassion. Preston’s music ministry began in 2002 as he began traveling with bands to bring awareness to the love of Jesus as well as the mental health crisis. With his father being a professional counselor and pastor, he was very aware of the effect that mental health was having on the generation, as well as the ultimate source of wellness - the finished work of the cross. He has spent the following twenty years traveling the country writing songs, leading worship, preaching, and even opening businesses geared towards Christ-centered clinical mental healthcare.
Cliff is proud to call Smackover, Arkansas his hometown. He is even prouder of God’s faithfulness through his marriage with his wife Leslie, and the wisdom God provides as they raise their daughter Kannyn (12), and their two sons Murphy (10) and Campbell (2).
Cliff brings over two decades of ministry experience and business development to his partnership with People & Songs. In that time, he has written songs for artists including Newsong, JJ Weeks, Carrolton and more. He has shared the stage with artists such as MercyMe, Jeremy Camp, and Natalie Grant among others. All while opening and building companies that develop platforms to display Christ to a lost and hurting world.
Cliff is excited for what is to come as he joins forces with this diverse team of artists, worship leaders, and writers for the glory of God.

a few words from
cliff preston
I remember being in an old barn in the desert of California. It was in 2007, and the band I was with was shooting a music video. We didn't know the crew well; they had led us into the desert and this old barn. They are dear friends now, but it was a little unsettling, to say the least. I remember giving my dad my last will and testament as we rode to the site.
We approached this barn, and I didn't know why we would shoot a video here. I saw the sun shoot through the cracks in the hundred-year-old barn at that moment. The sun and dust created a light show that it would be hard to recreate with LED’s and haze.
The cracks were how the light got in. Over the years of wear and tear, the old barn became a beautiful place to behold. The scars of the storms and abuse had created just the environment for a beautiful rebrand. That's how it is in our lives.
God will get the glory out of the darkest things if we allow Him to. He takes those scars and cracks, infuses them with His light, and uses our testimonies of redemption to help the next one battling through the same storm. And that is how He rebuilds us. He's still rebuilding me.

Rebuilder lyrics
Verse 1
Through the rubble
And the wreckage
I'd forgotten who I was
You reached out for my hand
And found me in the dust
My soul had given up
But You wouldn't
Leave me undone
Chorus
Rebuilder
My walls were crumbling
Restorer
You brought
The light into the room
And filled my lungs
So I could learn to breathe again
My shelter
My warmth
In the coldest night
My helper
You held me up 'til I could stand
On the promise that
You are rebuilding me
(Oh You promise that Y
ou are rebuilding me)
Verse 2
I have seen the dawn
Start to break
Between the cracks
The beginnings of a day
I never thought
Would come to pass
You brought me back to life
You were the morning in my night
Bridge
To the man I am today
With all my fear and shame
You rescued my heart
And showed me that joy
Can come through pain
You brought dancing to these streets
My second chance for peace
