Stand On Your Promise by The Emerging Sound

A few words from the authors

“Stand On Your Promise” is a reminder for all of us that God is faithful to every word He speaks. He is constant, steadfast, and His character never changes. No matter what season we walk through, we can trust that His promises still remain true. My prayer is that this song encourages you to keep believing, keep trusting, and keep standing on the promises of God.”

-Maddie Fong

“Stand on Your Promise” came from reflecting on how consistent God is, even when life feels uncertain. So much around us changes constantly — emotions, circumstances, plans — but Scripture reminds us that God doesn’t change His mind about who He is or what He’s spoken. The line “I’m thankful You’re stuck in Your ways” became the heart of the song for me because it captures the comfort of God’s unchanging character in a simple, human way. He’s faithful in every season, even in the waiting. I hope people hear this song and are reminded they can trust God fully — not just when prayers are answered quickly, but even when He asks us to wait. His promises are still true today. A lot of the song connects to scriptures like Numbers 23:19, “God is not man, that He should lie,” and Lamentations 3:22-23 about His mercies being new every morning. Ultimately, this song is about surrender, trust, standing firm on who God has been, and who he will always be.”

-Brenton Lawless

So, at its heart, “Stand on Your Promise” came from reflecting on God’s unwavering faithfulness. Every promise He makes, He keeps, even when life doesn’t match our expectations. This song is a reminder to trust His plan in every season, whether we’re facing challenges or celebrating victories. My hope is that it becomes an anthem—for those who need reassurance of His goodness, and for those celebrating His faithfulness. In all things, may it draw hearts to give glory to the God who never changes.

Stand on your promise lyrics

Verse 1
You are not man that You should lie to me,
Or someone like me that You should change Your mind.
The only place You want to see me fall is at Your feet.
Whatever comes, I’ll follow faithfully!

Chorus 1

I stand on Your promise today!
I trust You will do what You say!
I’m thankful You’re stuck in Your ways!
You’re faithful, You never change!
I stand on Your promise today,
Even if You ask me to wait!
I chase You day after day!
Too good to go walkin' away,
I stand on Your promise today!

Verse 2

Your mercies are new, now, every morning.
What else to say, but "Holy, Holy?"
The only place my crown deserves to fall is at Your feet,
And You never change, so what makes me think You’ll start now?

Chorus 2

I stand on Your promise today!
I trust You will do what You say!
I’m thankful You’re stuck in Your ways!
You’re faithful, You never change!
I stand on Your promise today,
Even if You ask me to wait!
I chase You day after day!
Too good to go walkin' away,
I stand on Your promise today!

Bridge 1

Hallelujah, Holy, Holy!
Oh Jesus, King of Glory!
Forever, You are faithful!
You’re faithful! You’re faithful!
Hallelujah, Holy, Holy!
Oh Jesus, King of Glory!
Forever, You are faithful!
Forever!

Chorus 3
I stand on Your promise today!
I trust You will do what You say!
I’m thankful You’re stuck in Your ways!
You’re faithful, You never change!
I stand on Your promise today,
Even if You ask me to wait!
I chase You day after day!
Too good to go walkin' away,
I stand on Your promise today!

Bridge 2
Hallelujah, Holy, Holy!
Oh Jesus, King of Glory!
Forever, You are faithful!
You’re faithful! You’re faithful!
Hallelujah, Holy, Holy!
Oh Jesus, King of Glory!
Forever, You are faithful!
Forever!
