A Few Words from the writers
“Since the inception of our very first fledgling songwriting camp so many moons ago, hungry hearts and ready pens have gathered from all across the nation every year to write scripture into song. The goal has always been to use meter, rhyme and melody to permanently imprint heart and mind and life; disciple making through music and service until the whole earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord, like the waters that cover the seas. Hab 2:14
And then recently, the Holy Spirit whispered the words of Matthew 5:14-16 with a beckoning for a remnant of us to rise and shine, and prepare to gather; and then the stirring of Prov 27:10 to empower The Emerging Sound of local neighbors, friends, and family that live here in La Porte, IN.
So this is a different offering. A humble gathering — a few artists from People & Songs, members of The Door Keepers (a mass choir in the making), and a tiny band of beloved alumni. It was beautifully small, intimate, simple, fun, and holy.
Lamp stands and lanterns aren’t nearly as vital in the broad noonday. That’s what the dark is made for. What a canvas it makes and stage it sets…
It’s been said, “All the darkness in the universe cannot extinguish a single flame.”
Brothers and Sisters, it’s time to trim the wicks, gather flasks, rise with your lanterns, and come on out! There is an undeniable sound… And those with ears to hear will hear, it’s… “Jesus, the Light of the World!”
